QUARTERLY TAXES FOR PROPERTY OWNERS

Date: 03/31/2021

If you are a non-resident in Spain and own and rent out urban property, you will be required to pay Non-Resident Income Tax (IRNR) and a local tax, the Impuesto sobre Bienes Inmuebles (IBI).

The deadline for the presentation of this tax is from the 1st to the 20th of July.

There are two types of tax for non-residents, depending on whether they rent their home or not.

This tax is paid in the year following the year we are going to declare. The deadline is December, and can be paid from January. If the tax is not paid within the specified period, the Hacienda will issue a request that the owner pay the tax along with a fine for the delay.

At Sánchez Solicitors we offer you our specialised advice on this or any other legal matter.
